A military medical bag is a compact and convenient means of transporting medical equipment that can hold everything needed for emergency care in the field. Depending on the amount of medical equipment and the needs of the fighter, it can be a belt medical bag-organizer, a backpack or a pouch for a specific item — a tourniquet, scissors and the like.
In general, there are several requirements that a tactical medical bag must meet. It should be:

• compact and lightweight. The product must be conveniently worn together with all combat equipment and in no way restrain movements. Transportability and compactness are also important because the bag can be worn for long periods of time, but should not weigh the user down;
• conveniently organised. In medical emergencies (resuscitation, tourniquet application, etc.) every second counts, so access to the contents of the bag should be instantaneous. The main compartment should preferably open 180 degrees, giving access to all internal slots and cells when unzipped;
• durable and hard-wearing. To withstand harsh conditions of use, the bag should be made of appropriate materials. Traditionally, this is either dense nylon treated with a waterproof coating or cordura, a thick nylon fabric with a special yarn structure.
